The incidence of the population in Ukraine for 11 months of 2023 is 0.134 per 100 thousand people (55 cases), compared to 0.022 per 100 thousand people (9 cases) in the same period of 2022.

Measles is a dangerous and contagious disease caused by a virus that is unstable in the environment.

The only source of infection is a sick person who is contagious to others from the last days of the incubation period to the 4th day after the rash.

 The mechanism of infection transmission is airborne. Infection occurs through inhalation from the air of the smallest droplets (aerosol) of mucus containing viruses that have been released into the air by sneezing, coughing or talking to a person with measles.

Symptoms:

fever (high temperature up to 40°C)
maculopapular rash (red spots and irregularly shaped papules)
cough;
acute rhinitis (runny nose);
conjunctivitis (inflammation of the mucous membrane of the eye)

The susceptibility to infection is extremely high: you can get sick at any age if you have encountered the virus for the first time and have no immunity. The main method of preventing measles is vaccination.

Since the military and police officers are among the occupational risk groups, we would like to draw attention and attention to the staff of the National Police of Ukraine, military units and internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, as well as cadets of military educational institutions.
