Conducted psychocorrective work with military personnel and police officers using projective methods

Practical psychologists of the PD and PPV center conducted a communication event "Diagnostic, preventive and psychocorrective work with servicemen of the National University of Ukraine, Armed Forces of Ukraine and police officers using projective methods".

One of the characteristic features of the social interaction of military personnel in modern society is increased conflict and aggressiveness. This is due to the influence of a number of factors that complicate daily life and are a source of irritation and psychological tension.

The specific activity of military personnel consists in the fact that there are situations, unforeseen events that are associated with high responsibility, the need to communicate with different people, physical and mental stress. This activity requires decisive action, the ability to take great risks. At the same time, the aggressiveness that appears in personnel under these conditions can manifest itself both in the form of persistence, stubbornness, and in the form of hostility and hatred, which affects the emotional development, personality formation and behavior of servicemen.

In order to effectively implement decisions during service, it is necessary to ensure such a level of formation of all the qualities of a military person that he is able to successfully perform the assigned tasks in any situations. It is necessary to ensure a sufficient level of mental stability for a participant in hostilities. If such conditions are not created, it can cause in the military: aggression, bad mood, weakness, emotional imbalance, self-doubt, isolation. As a result, a high degree of tension leads to active or passive aggressive behavior.

Aggressive behavior directly depends on the level of self-esteem. The more inadequate the level of self-esteem (inadequately underestimated or inadequately overestimated), the higher are the indicators of general aggression and its components.

In the work of psychologists, projective methods are used to diagnose aggressive behavior. The use of test methods can be productive not only in the diagnosis of aggressiveness, but also in some other cases.

Timely diagnosis, prevention and psychocorrection of aggressive behavior caused by stressful events currently experienced by the military is extremely relevant.

Thus, the quality of psychological assistance will depend not only on the restoration of combat capability of servicemen, but also on the social well-being of personnel and their family members, the level of moral and psychological state, prevention of aggressive behavior, which in most cases is a consequence of professional stress and PTSD.
