Relaxation of quarantine measures does not override COVID-19 safety rules

The relaxation of quarantine measures for COVID-19 has been in effect for the third month in the country. These measures were introduced gradually and today they continue. Some citizens perceived this as a lifting of all restrictions. Therefore, high levels of COVID-19 incidence have been recorded this month. According to the Ministry of Health, the highest levels were recorded from August 6 to August 8, 2020 (August 06 - 1,318, August 07 - 1,453, August 08 - 1,489). As of August 13, 2020, another anti-record for the daily number of infections was recorded at 1,592 cases. This is the highest figure for the entire period of the COVID-19 pandemic in Ukraine. Most new cases during the last 24 hours were registered in Kharkiv (209), Lviv (166), Ivano-Frankivsk (138), Chernivtsi (130) and Odessa (114) regions, as well as in Kiev (133). A total of 86140 cases of infection were officially confirmed in Ukraine over the entire period of the epidemic, 1992 people with coronavirus died, and 46216 patients recovered.

In Kirovograd region for the entire period 733 cases were recorded, including 5 cases during the last 24 hours.

The persons entitled to medical service in the hospital (with polyclinic) of MD MD "TMAI of MIA of Ukraine in Kirovograd oblast" should follow all recommendations for prevention of spread and prevention of COVID-19 during service duties and in everyday life.

The main recommendations were developed by WHO and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine:

  1. Observe physical distance and self-isolation. Physical distancing is keeping a safe distance from other people, to be at least 1.5 meters away from each other. Self-isolation is limiting contact with patients with COVID-19 symptoms to prevent further spread of the disease.Regular and thorough treatment of hands with disinfectant containing at least 60% alcohol or washing them with warm water and soap for 20-40 seconds.
  2. Avoid crowded places. There you are much more likely to come into close contact with a person infected with COVID-19.
  3. Do not touch your eyes, mouth, or nose with your hands. Dirty hands can transfer the virus to the mucous membranes of the eyes, nose or mouth. From there it can enter the body. That is why this advice is very important. If it is still necessary to touch your face, use a clean wipe, which should be thrown in the trash after use.
  4. Observe respiratory hygiene for breathing and coughing. When coughing or sneezing, cover your mouth and nose with the curve of your elbow or a tissue. The used tissue should be thrown away and your hands washed. Respiratory hygiene rules will help you protect others from flu and SARS, including COVID-19.
  5. Use a mask or breathing mask. You should wear a mask or respirator in all public places (in transportation, public transit stops, stores, markets, government offices, medical facilities, playgrounds, etc.). If you need to leave the house, wear a mask.
  6. In case of fever, coughing and difficulty in breathing, loss of smell or taste, you should contact the district doctor at the polyclinic of the hospital (with polyclinic) of GU "TMO MIA of Ukraine in Kirovograd region". The telephone number of the registration office is 0 (522) 557066.

Following these simple rules will protect you and your loved ones from COVID-19 and other viral diseases.

Remember disease is easier to prevent than to treat!
