What documents are needed for family members of IAB veterans to receive a certificate of eligibility for benefits under Law № 203/98-VR

The wife (husband) of a veteran of internal affairs bodies enjoys benefits as a family member of a veteran during his life. After the death of a veteran, his widow (widower), in accordance with Article 7 of the Law of Ukraine "On the Status of Veterans of Military Service, Veterans of Internal Affairs, Veterans of the National Police and some other persons and their social protection", himself (herself) acquires the status of a person who is a beneficiary.

Widows (widowers) of deceased (dead) veterans of internal affairs bodies and members of their families who are their dependents, enjoy the benefits set out in paragraphs 6 - 9 of Article 6 of Law № 203/98-VR "

In cases where the right to the same benefit is stipulated by different normative-legal acts, this benefit is granted according to one of them by choice. Family members of veterans of internal affairs bodies are deprived of the right to benefits only while they are serving a court-ordered custodial sentence.

Benefits stipulated in paragraph 6 of Article 6 of this Law shall be granted if the amount of average monthly total family income per person for the previous six months does not exceed the amount of income which gives the right to tax social benefits in the manner prescribed by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

To obtain a certificate of eligibility for benefits under Law No. 203/98-VR, widows (widowers) of deceased (deceased) veterans of internal affairs bodies shall submit to the sector the following documents:

an appropriate application;

a copy of the certificate "Veteran of internal affairs bodies" of the deceased veteran (if any);

copies (1,2,3,10, registration) of passport pages of a widow (widower)

copy of marriage certificate;

copy of death certificate;

copy of MSEC certificate (if a veteran is recognized as disabled).

copy of an extract from the order of dismissal from the internal affairs bodies of the deceased, which specifies the calendar length of service, a copy of the calculation of length of service or the service record.

If necessary, the sector provides assistance in obtaining these documents.
