Modern methods of diagnosing skin diseases

The use of dermatoscopy as a modern and effective method of diagnosing skin diseases is becoming more and more active. This method of examination of skin formations excludes surgical intervention into the human body. It involves visual assessment of numerous morphological signs that cannot be seen with the naked eye, which contributes to establishing a clinical diagnosis of almost all pigmented formations on the surface of the skin. The use of dermatoscopy improves the clinical diagnosis of all pigmented and non-pigmented skin lesions. Using a dermatoscope, a nevus can be magnified tenfold to study its structure in detail. Dermatoscopy has an important advantage: it has no contraindications and can be used for different groups of patients in the early stages of the disease.

Dermatoscopy allows you to accurately establish the nature of the nevus (mole), to establish the degree of danger of the nevus (birthmark) and its type on the basis of data on its shape and color. The doctor obtains a tenfold magnification of the mole, and the illumination of the area by means of a halogen lamp similar to epiluminescence incident microscopy allows the structure of the nevus to be studied more carefully, revealing the smallest changes in its development in the course of repeated visits. Patients at risk have the opportunity to continuously monitor changes in color, shape and size of moles.

Thanks to the method of dermatoscopy we can suspect a malignant neoplasm (melanoma, basiloma, plasculitic skin cancer), differentiate the type of tumor (benign or malignant), and examine other skin diseases and conduct diagnosis of warts, papillomas, pigmented nevi. Detection of diseases in the early stages of development - is the key to a speedy and final recovery.

This method is absolutely painless and makes it possible to view and evaluate structures that cannot be recognized using other diagnostic methods. The dermatoscopic examination is 95% reliable.

The procedure is similar to an ultrasound examination: a dermatoscope is attached to the skin area to be examined, which, by shining a bright beam of light on the lesion, provides a magnified image. The examination allows problem areas on the skin to be identified in a matter of minutes.

Hospital (with outpatient clinic) GU "TMI MVD of Ukraine in Kirovograd region" invites everyone to be examined by a dermatologist. Inquiries can be made by calling 55-70-66.
