ON GRANTING THE STATUS OF "VETERAN OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS BODIES", "VETERAN OF MILITARY SERVICE

Status of veterans of internal affairs bodies, veterans of military service is established in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On the status of veterans of military service, veterans of internal affairs bodies, veterans of the National Police and some other persons and their social protection" dated 24 March 1998 (hereinafter - Law № 203/98 -VR).

Veterans of internal affairs bodies, veterans of military service, citizens of Ukraine are recognized as:

1) who have served faultlessly in the bodies of internal affairs, military service for 25 or more years in calendar or 30 or more years in preferential calculation (of which at least 20 years of service in calendar calculation) and retired in the reserve or in retirement in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine or the former Union of SSR or CIS states;

2) Persons with Group I and II disabilities, whose disability resulted from an injury, contusion, mutilation or illness related to the performance of military service duties, service in the military reserve during direct participation in the anti-terrorist operation, in the implementation of measures to ensure national security and defense, repulse and deterrence of armed aggression of the Russian Federation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, while directly in areas and during implementation of the mentioned measures or while performing their official duties

3) Persons with group I and II disabilities, whose disability occurred as a result of an illness received during military service and service in the bodies of internal affairs, National Police, tax police, state fire department, State Criminal Executive Service of Ukraine, civil protection bodies and units, state service of special communication and information protection of Ukraine, and who have seniority in military service and service in the bodies of internal affairs, National Police, state fire department, state

4) military pensioners who have been awarded the medal "Veteran of the Armed Forces of the USSR" under the legislation of the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics;

5) Those who have served flawlessly in military service for 20 or more years in calendar or 25 or more years in preferential computation and were dismissed from military service in connection with the reform of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Article 5 of Law № 203/98-VR).

In accordance with article 10 of Law No. 203/98-VR, veterans of internal affairs bodies and veterans of military service are presented with certificates and badges.

The order of issue of the certificate and presentation of the breastplate "Veteran of military service", like and description of the certificate "Veteran of military service", like and description of the breastplate "Veteran of military service" is approved by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine from 30.08.1999 № 1601 "About the order of issue of the certificate and presentation of the breastplate "Veteran of military service".

Point 2 of the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine "About the order of issuing the certificate and presentation of the breastplate" Veteran of the internal affairs bodies "¹ 742 dated 01.06.2002, extends the effect of". of the Procedure of issuance of the certificate and presentation of the breastplate "Veteran of Military Service", approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine from 30.08.1999 № 1601, on the issuance of certificates and presentation of the breastplate "Veteran of internal affairs bodies".

The grounds for issuance of certificate and awarding of lapel badge "Veteran of internal affairs bodies", "Veteran of military service" one of the following documents:

an order on dismissal from the bodies of internal affairs from military service in the reserve or retired;

a certificate from the medical and social expert commission stating that he or she is disabled under Group I or II as a result of an injury, contusion, mutilation or illness attributable to the performance of military service duties

a certificate of award of the medal "Veteran of the Armed Forces of the USSR.

To obtain a certificate "Veteran of internal affairs bodies", "Veteran of military service" and badges "Veteran of internal affairs bodies", "Veteran of military service" the following documents are submitted to the Branch:

- application;

- Original and copy of a passport of a citizen of Ukraine;

- copy of the order on dismissal from the internal affairs bodies from military service in the reserve or in retirement;

- copy of calculation of length of service or copy of service record (for clarification of length of service that gives the right to establish the status of "Veteran of internal affairs bodies");

- certificate of medical and social expert commission confirming disability of I or II group due to injury, contusion, mutilation or illness due to military service duties, or certificate of award of the medal "USSR Armed Forces Veteran" (if any);

- One 3 cm x 4 cm photograph.


It should be noted that according to Article 17 of the Law No. 2262-XII, training in civil higher education institutions (regardless of the form of training) is a period of time counted as length of service for pension assignment, but not the type of service, the periods of which are counted as length of service for the status of "veteran of the internal affairs bodies".

Accepted applications and documents, which give the right to receive a certificate and badge "Veteran of the Interior", certified in the prescribed manner, employees of the sector are sent to the authorized structural subdivision of the Ministry of Interior, where they are processed. In the covering letter, by which they are sent, length of service (calendar, preferential, period of training) shall be specified.

Certificates and lapel badges "Veteran of the Internal Affairs Bodies" received from the authorized structural subdivision of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are handed to the veteran of the Internal Affairs or on his behalf at the place of residence of the veteran, the recipient of the certificate and lapel badge is signed in the appropriate record document.

The certificate "Veteran of internal affairs bodies" is a document confirming the status of a veteran of internal affairs bodies and his right to benefits under the Law of Ukraine "On the status of veterans of military service, veterans of internal affairs bodies, veterans of the National Police and some other persons and their social protection" and other legislative acts.

The certificate and badge "Veteran of internal affairs bodies" are issued free of charge.
